The Software Behind a Biological Age Test
A biological age test is a laboratory process wrapped in a consumer product. Kits have to be tracked from order to sample to result, clinicians need the science presented in a way patients understand, and the team behind it was running that chain on tooling that could not keep up.
The Challenge
A biological age test is a laboratory process sold as a consumer product, and those two halves have very different software needs. A kit has to be tracked from the moment it is ordered, through the sample arriving at the lab, to a result that a person with no background in glycobiology can read and act on. Clinicians need the underlying science presented honestly. Marketing needs to publish without filing a ticket. The company was running that chain across tools that did not talk to each other, which meant manual handoffs at exactly the points where a sample must not be lost.
What We Built
We built the CMS and the internal systems as one connected chain rather than a website with a lab process bolted to the side, so the customer-facing content, the results and the operational reporting share the same data. The content side was made editable by the people who actually write the content, which removed the standing queue of copy changes waiting on a developer.

BigQuery underneath the results data
Analysis over the customer and results set is the product, not a side report, so it needed a store that could answer real questions across the whole history rather than the most recent slice.
Editable content over developer-gated copy
In a regulated-adjacent field the wording of a result matters and changes often. Making that editable by the clinical and marketing teams removed a developer from a loop where they added latency without adding judgement.
The Result
The systems ran the company for two years across ordering, lab operations, results presentation and internal reporting.
Under the Hood
Angular and Svelte front ends on Firebase, with BigQuery for analysis across the customer and results data, replacing manual handoffs between the lab, the clinical team and the website.
